I learned three audio effects from my digital arts class: EQ, compression, and space reverb. It is useful knowing these tools cause I know how to edit audio properly and what my options are when I need to fix up sound. Still, I wouldn’t trust myself with audio editing because I never get the audio levels right. Sometimes my edit is too quiet or too damn loud. Sometimes, I add too much or too little effects.
The only thing I like about audio editing, is the thing I like about video editing or story writing or whatever creative endeavor I take up and that is taking source files and arranging them in a way that tells a story or creates an experience.
For this weeks lab, I edited audio that was given to me this week in Soundtrack Pro. Here’s the file (the audio files are contained in it): http://cl.ly/EZJz
